Community Media
This is one of CIPL’s programs, which aims to support Indigenous youth in producing videos, films, audio, and written stories, as well as using social media as a tool to disseminate community issues. It provides media production equipment to youth in target areas to assist them in producing videos and films.

Media serves as a cost-effective method and tool for wide dissemination and advocacy to reach the public, avoiding high filmmaking and platform expenses.
More importantly, it delivers messages from community members to government agencies, lawmakers, policy creators, and local authorities, enabling them to understand community issues and concerns and offer positive responses. As is widely recognized, people globally rely on media to access information and convey messages through social media channels. Media holds powerful impact because people use it to communicate, share information, entertain, exchange ideas, and conduct advocacy to achieve common goals. We believe that working together and utilizing communication to reach community goals builds community solidarity, fosters internal trust, and addresses local issues.
CIPL possesses the requisite media expertise to support communities in leveraging social media and producing their own media content.
To address community needs regarding access to information, knowledge, and learning, the media program supports four main activity areas for youth and community members:
Video and film production
Social media management
News and story writing
Sound editing, photography, and graphic design
